Choose the network model you would like to be displayed (Schools, teachers, projects or countries); the graph will change immediately.
The connection between the elements depends on the chosen network:
- Schools: two nodes (schools) are connected (by a line) if they perform(ed) a project together
- Teachers: two nodes (teachers) are connected if they perform(ed) a project together
- Projects: two nodes (projects) are connected if they were submitted by the same teacher
- Countries: two nodes (countries) are connected if there exist at least one school in both countries which perform(ed) a project together
Choose the year to filter out all nodes of the actual network which did not register in that year.
Disable the filter to include incorrect/inconsistent data records and unconnected nodes in the network creation.

Note: The calculation will take a lot more time!
Changing the properties (color and size) will generate a grouping (clustering). Two elements (nodes or edges) will be in the same group, if the have the same color or size. I.e. they have similar or the same attribute (e.g. same home country).
A legend will be created automatically to explain the different clusters.

After choosing the desired properties, click on the Change!-Button below to start the computation.
Choose an algorithm to chance the positions of nodes and edges.

The positioning and the resulting visual clarity depend strongly on the combination of network and layout algorithm. Not every algorithm is optimized for every network!

Note: The resulting positions do not have any meaning for the element's characteristics! They are computed by optimizing the arrangement.
Select labels for nodes and/or edges to get more information (e.g. schoolnames or projecttitles).

Note: In denser networks the labels may decrease the visual clarity!
Shows the whole graph in the display.
Shows some statistics for the eTwinning network.
Choose Social Network Analysis (SNA) aspects.
Choose a question to generate an exract of the corresponding networks which answers the question.

To change the network again use the Network-field on the right or another question.
Insert the word you want to search.
Starts searching.

If the word is found in a node label, the color will change to bicolour.

Note: The search is only available on activated node labels!
To clear the search results, delete the word from the textfield and click on Search again.
Opens the help window.
Resets the network and the options to the first screen shown.
Apply the chosen properties.
To handle the density, this option allows to show only the edges which are not existing . A second click displays the network before.

The network creation may take several minutes. The options will be changable after successful loading.

Please wait and do not change the properties before the network is loaded.
Go forward to the network of the next year.
Go back to the network of the year before.
In the evolution network, all schools participating in the corresponding year are regarded. That leads to longer layouting times! Once the layout has been done for every year, you may browse the networks without time delay.
